About
SCV Race Team
We were established in 2010 and continue to go strong while growing. We are a composite race team for the local private and public schools in Santa Clarita Valley. The SCV Race Team comprises of females and males from 6th grade through high school seniors racing in the SoCal league. We travel to races within Southern California. Although the team is competitive, we understand kids have to start somewhere. We welcome females and males at different levels of riding to join our team and race with us. We practice three days a week as a team.

Race events 2025
Team building is essential!
The races are weekend events, but if you are unable to make it for the whole weekend, you can come for just the race. Although we encourage you and your family to stay and build team camaraderie. Most venues have camping at an RV camp ground. Bring your tent, grab a hotel, rent an RV, or just come for the day. The kids love it and the team will cheer on team members and other racers. Junior High School races occur on Saturdays after the team warm up and site laps. High School races take place on Sundays so plan accordingly. If you do plan on camping, be sure to get your campspot as early as possible. The venues fill up fast.

Open Registration for the season
There is a registration window every season to sign up. Due to ordering of team kits and strict guidelines, registration for the following race season closes in the month of November each year. Registeration for the 2025 season will begin October 12, 2024. We will be hosting a signup day at Trek Bike Park begining at 1000am. We will only be there for a couple hours so get there at 1000am to sign up. The team director will also have a parent meeting during this time, so bring all your questions you have. If you miss the event or have prior engagements, we understand. The sign up will continue until November 30. skill levels
We understand everyone is at different skill levels. We provided some videos from YouTube for your viewing. These skills can be practiced at any time. Just get on the bike and ride. Skills will be developed during our three days a week training. You will develop skills for braking, proper pedaling, cornering, body positioning and much more while riding with your teammates.

During the season you will have fun while learning the importance of becoming a good team member. We like to camp together, have meals together and get to know each other while laughing and cheering on other racers from any team.

budget
The SCV mountain bike team budget is made up entirely of contributions from corporate sponsors, rider dues and family donations. The team runs on a lean budget and all expenses benefit the riders. The board of directors are not paid and all coaches are volunteeers.
